Chandelier height. It should be 2 1/2 to 3 inches for every foot in heighth the room has.  So a 10 ft room should have a chandelier that is 25 inches to thirty inches in height.

For a Dining Room Chandelier here is the formula….

Take the width of the dining room table (or diameter if round) and divide it in 2.  So a table that is 60 inches wide would have a chandelier 30 inches wide.  In addition there should be at least 30 inches between the dining room table and the chandelier.  So simply take the distance from the table to ceiling and subtract 30 inches to get the appropriate height requirements for the chandelier.
